Sound Equine & Canine Care is happy to render therapy in the convenience of your property, (within the Orange, Riverside, San Diego and Los Angeles areas) or at our own rehabilitation center, located in Temecula, California.
Our 4 acre rehabilitation center is situated on a hilltop in beautiful wine and horse country. In this peaceful sanctuary, we love and care for our own horses and dogs (and cats!), and we extend that same gentle and compassionate attitude to our patients.
Our Place
Our facility can accommodate horses who require more frequent treatments, be it once a day or every other day. When recovering from an injury, an exercise regimen is an essential part of successful recovery, which is tailored to each horse's individual needs. Exercising is facilitated by our trainer, and under the supervision of our veterinarian and the guidance of our therapist.
Sound Equine and Canine Care also offers boarding arrangements for senior/retired horses who receive individual care not just in terms of special dietary needs, but also moderate exercise programs designed for seniors. We strongly believe that senior horses benefit from moderate exercise.
The general consensus is for senior horses to be placed in pastures to retire. We do not agree with this school of thought after observing older horses and their interactions in the pastures. If horses are not carefully monitored, they could be hurt by other more dominant horses in the same pasture. Even when older horses are left alone in large paddocks, they naturally do not move around much on their own. Our moderate exercise program remedies older horse's inactivity and allows them to thrive for many years during their well-deserved retirement.
